Tried this on a staging copy first and it behaved exactly as described. Confident enough to roll it to production now.
Short answer: yes, and here is the supported path.
- Open the relevant settings panel.
- Make the change there rather than editing files.
- Save, then reload to confirm.
Doing it this way means your change survives updates. Hand-editing files does not.
