How do I pin an important topic to the top of a space?

I have a welcome post I want pinned to the top of a space so new members always see it first. How do I pin a topic, and can I pin more than one?

Short answer: yes, and here is the supported path.

Open the relevant settings panel.
Make the change there rather than editing files.
Save, then reload to confirm.

Doing it this way means your change survives updates. Hand-editing files does not.

I respectfully disagree on one detail. In my setup the opposite held true, though I suspect it comes down to community size.
